Antes de contarles un poco acerca de los novios, quiero contarles un poco acerca de mi historia con Poly. Sí, nuestra historia.
Conocí a Poly a principios del 2012, cuando viajé a Miami para asistir a un workshop de Jasmine Star. Los asistentes crearon un grupo en facebook para irnos conociendo (todos de Florida) y, como yo me iba a quedar un poquito lejos de Miami, pregunté si podía asistir con alguien. Ella me contactó inmediatamente y se ofreció a ayudarme en toooodo lo que necesitara. Siempre le estaré súper agradecida por eso; mi mamá dice que fue como un ángel que me cayó del cielo (¡y sí que lo fue!).
Finalmente llegó el día del workshop. Para nuestra sorpresa, las dos nos vestimos con pantalón verde y blazer! ¿Cuáles eran las posiblidades? Todos pensaban que eramos amigas desde hace muchísimo y que nos habíamos puesto de acuerdo. La verdad que lo parecíamos, hicimos “click” de inmediato y no sólo el de la cámara (*pu tum pfff* mal chiste). Al día siguiente salimos y tomamos muchísimas fotos. Nos volvimos a ver meses más tarde cuando regresé a Fort Lauderdale y fue cuando me comentó los planes de su boda y además me hizo un photoshoot súper lindo por mi cumpleaños.
Cuando me preguntó que si me gustaría ser la fotógrafa de su boda, yo encantada acepté. Adicional contrató a mis amigos de Picturage Studios, lo cual hizo mucho más emocionante algo que ya de por sí lo era. No les miento que sí tuve un poco de nervios por ser mi primera novia internacional y siendo la novia fotógrafa también. No pressure at all! 😉
Es así como el 19 de Octubre de 2013, exactamente cuatro años más tarde de su primera cita, estábamos todos reunidos para celebrar y capturar la unión de una hermosa pareja: Polyana y Alex.
Alex es boricua de nacimiento que se mudó a los 9 años a Estados Unidos. Poly, por su lado, nació en Brazil y se mudó cuando tenía 17. Al parecer estaban destinados el uno para el otro desde mucho antes.
Fue amor a primera vista. Se conocieron y a la semana comenzaron a ser novios. Para su primer aniversario, Alex la llevó a Puerto Rico y fue ahí cuando supo, que si se casaba con él, le gustaría casarse en Puerto Rico porque le recordaba mucho a su hogar. No tuvo que pasar mucho tiempo para volver a pensar en eso. En el 2012 la llevó a Orlando (donde se conocieron por primera vez) y fueron a ver the Blue Men Show y en la pantalla pusieron la gran pregunta “Will you marry me?” y pues ya sabrán lo que respondió 😉
La boda quedó pre-cio-sa! El lugar era un espectáculo y fue hermoso ver como se unían varias culturas en un sólo lugar, podías oír inglés, español y portugués en toda la hacienda. Todos ríendo y disfrutando en conjunto.
Podría contarles mucho más acerca de esta enriquecedora experiencia pero ya no puedo esperar más para enseñarles las fotos y el slideshow (¡¡No se pierdan el slideshow!! Lo hice con mucho cariño 😉 )
En cuanto a Puerto Rico, bueno, no por nada le llaman “la isla del encanto”… ¡Quedé encantada con este país! Sus paisajes, su gente, su sabor, su comida… ¡ayy su comida! (ando antojada de mofongo desde que estaba despegando el avión de regreso) y la salsa por todos lados, que hasta terminé bailando en pleno callejón. Definitivamente quiero volver, es un lugar que vale la pena visitar y lo recomiendo al 100%
Con el favor de Dios, sé que esta es la primera de varias bodas internacionales que tendré. Nuevamente mil gracias a Polyana y Alex por brindarme esta GRAN oportunidad. Fue un gran placer compartir con ustedes, su familia y amigos. ¡Que tengan una hermosa vida juntos!

Before telling you a little bit about this couple, I want to tell you my history with Poly. Yes, our story.
I met Poly at the begginig of 2012, when I traveled to Miami to attend a Jasmine Star’s workshop. All the attendants created a facebook group to know each other better before the event (they were all from Florida) and, as I was going to stay a little bit away from Miami, I asked if I could go with someone from the group. She contacted me inmediatly and offered herself to help in eveeeerything I needed. I will always be thankful to her because of that. My mom says she was a kind of angel for me (and yes she was!)
Finally, the workshop day arrived. For our surprise, both of us were dressed up with green pants and blazers… I mean, what were the chances? Everybody thought we’ve been friends for a long time and that we decided to match up our outfits. Actually, we looked like we were bff’s, we “clicked” as soon as we met and not only the click from the camera (*pu tum pff* bad joke). After that, we went out again, took lots of pictures and we got to see each other again a few months later when I went back to Fort Lauderdale. She told me about her wedding plans and she also did me a really cute photoshoot as a birthday gift.
When she asked me if I wanted to be the photographer of her wedding, I accepted inmediatly. She also hired my friends from Picturage Studios which made it even more exciting than it already was by itself. I won’t lie, I was a little nervous too because this was my first international wedding and the bride was a wedding photographer as well. No pressure at all 😉
That’s how in october 19, 2013, four years after their first date, we met to celebrate and capture the union of a beautiful couple: Polyana and Alex.
Alex is from Puerto Rico and moved to the States when he was 9. Poly was born in Brazil and she moved when she was 17. It’s like they were meant for each other from a long time ago.
It was love at first sight. They met and after just one week they were already a couple. For their first anniversary, Alex took Poly to Puerto Rico and that’s when she knew that if she ever married him, the wedding would have to be in Puerto Rico: it reminded her so much of her country. She didn’t had to wait too long before having to think about it again. In 2012 Alex took Poly to Orlando (where they first met) and they went to the Blue Men show. In their screen the put the big question “Will you marry me” and… well, you can imagine what was her answer.
The wedding was a-ma-zing! The venue was beautiful and seeing so many cultures gathered in one place speaking english, spanish and portuguese was truly a pleasure.
I could totally tell more about this experience but I couldn’t wait to share with you the pictures and the slideshow (Don’t miss the slideshow! I did it with lots of love!! )
About Puerto Rico, well, I don’t think they call it “la isla del encanto” for nothing… It totally enchanted me! The landscapes, the people, the flavors, the food… ¡¡oh the food!! (I’m craving for mofongo since the plane was departing from San Juan) and salsa everywhere, I even ended up dancing in the street. I definitely want to go back, it’s a place that’s worth visiting. I recommend it 100%.
With God’s favour, I know that this will be the first of many international weddings that I’ll cover. Once again, thanks Polyana and Alex for this HUGE opportunity. It was a great pleasure to share with you, your family and friends. I wish you a life full of happiness!

Lizzie, excelente fotos. Este es el primer paso de tu éxito a nivel internacional, felicidades! En las fotos que son outdoors: utilizas off-camera flash o las fotos son con luz ambiente disponible? En las que son de noche, utilizas modifiers como softboxes y/o paraguas? Son con on-camera flash?
